Building Financial Futures Golf Classic benefits financial literacy

The weather on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, was a perfect day for a golf outing. One hundred seventeen golfers turned out for TruMark Financial® Credit Union’s fifth annual Building Financial Futures Golf Classic, at Talamore Country Club, Ambler, Pa. Sunny skies and low humidity prevailed as golfers practiced social distancing and enjoyed a variety of contests in addition to 18 holes of scramble golf tournament play, raising more than $33,000 in support of financial literacy.

Competitors tested their skills at the following contests: putting, closest to the pin, golferoo, and men’s and women’s longest drive. In the hole in one competition, participants vied for a chance to win $10,000.

“We appreciate the overwhelming support from our sponsors, employees, vendors, credit union colleagues, and guests who attended the event and joined us in our mission to provide grants for local schools in need of personal finance resources,” said Richard F. Stipa, TruMark Financial’s chief executive officer.

Financial education continues to be a priority at TruMark Financial. The grants allow schools to purchase resources such as textbooks, computer software programs, and math manipulatives to teach the fundamentals of saving, borrowing, and investing.
