TruMark Financial Difference Makers Scholarship

TruMark Financial is excited to introduce our new scholarship program aimed at fostering student engagement and community development. The TruMark Financial Difference Makers Scholarship will recognize and reward students who demonstrate a strong dedication to community service with a financial award.

Important details:

    • Applications must be received by May 10, 2024

    • Students must be high school seniors planning to attend an institution of higher education including certificate program, trade school, college, or university. Students may plan to enroll in a program to obtain a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree, or a certificate in a specialized field.

    • Students will be judged on their participation in a volunteer program, either in conjunction with a non-profit organization or of their own design. The number of people reached, hours volunteered, and the ability of others to replicate the program will all be taken into consideration. They also will be required to write an personal essay detailing why they chose the non-profit organization/project.

    • Students must complete financial education modules through Zogo, a financial education app:

        • Download the app or select the desktop button

        • Select the topic you want to get started with

        • Create your account by selecting the signup/login link

        • Complete each module and record your completion dates on this application
          (Save money level 1 and 2 and Budgeting level 1, 2, and 3 are required, Credit level 1, 2, 3, and 4 are suggested)

    • Applicants must have a sponsoring teacher

    • The first-place winner will receive $7,500; the second-place winner will receive $4,000; and the third-place student will receive $3,000. (The checks for the top three students will be made payable to both the student and the school they will be attending.)

    • Each student placing in positions 4-10 will receive $350

    • Each of the non-profits associated with the top 10 students will receive $350

    • TruMark Financial officials, employees, and family members are ineligible for the scholarship

Concern for Community is a key cooperative principle. Building a scholarship program around this principle provides the credit union with a way to empower students so that they make a positive impact in the community while rewarding them with funds to assist with their education and their futures.
