TruMark Financial collaborates with local credit unions to combat food insecurity

TruMark Financial took part in the Annual Collaborative Credit Union Food Drive, resulting in 2,834 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable food being donated to Philabundance. To help replenish diminishing supplies in local pantries, TruMark Financial joined forces with Pennsylvania state legislators and the following local credit unions:

  • Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union
  • Superior Credit Union
  • Reliance Federal Credit Union
  • Freedom Credit Union
  • Penn Federal Credit Union
  • Tri County Area Federal Credit Union
  • American Heritage Credit Union
  • Ardent Credit Union
  • Sun East Federal Credit Union
  • Eagle One Federal Credit Union
  • Self Reliance Ukrainian Federal Credit Union
  • Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union
  • BHCU

The credit unions’ branches and legislators’ offices served as drop-off sites for food donations from members and  constituents. The credit unions worked with Philabundance to learn what types of food were most needed and received an overwhelming response from people who wanted to help. In addition to the food donation, the event also generated an astounding $26,290 in monetary donations, providing essential resources to further bolster Philabundance’s mission.

The event drew notable attendees, including Senator Amanda Cappelletti, who expressed her wholehearted support for the partnership’s collective efforts in combating hunger in the community. Senator Cappelletti commended TruMark Financial and its peers for making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.

Kelly Botti, TruMark Financial’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of addressing hunger in the community, particularly during the summer months when many students rely on school lunches for sustenance.

“We firmly believe that hunger has no place in our community,” Botti stated, “and this collaboration with our fellow credit unions reflects our shared commitment to making a difference. Through our support of Philabundance and our collective efforts, we are confident in creating a stronger, more resilient community for everyone.”
