Beth Sudler-Patton felt like a celebrity when she stepped off the plane and was greeted by a welcoming committee waving signs and balloons. A TruMark Financial® Credit Union member since 1987, it was the trip of a lifetime.
Sudler-Patton won an all-expense-paid trip for two to Chicago as one of only nine credit union members across the country to have their names drawn from a pool of thousands of other members who used their credit union credit or debit Rewards cards in at least three transactions per week during the sweepstakes qualification period. The grand prize for each sweepstakes winner was the opportunity to load an oversized shopping cart with as much merchandise as the two-person teams could grab from the shelves of the CURewards® warehouse which were stacked high with HDTVs, tablets, designer handbags, computers, home appliances, and thousands of other high-end products. PSCU sponsors the Magic Minutes Sweepstakes which recognizes and celebrates the unique loyalty bond that exists between members and their credit unions.
When a credit union representative initially notified Sudler-Patton to tell her she won the sweepstakes, she thought it was a scam. To confirm it was the real deal, she decided to call the Chestnut Hill branch where she where normally conducts her business. Once the branch manager confirmed she was the lucky winner, she packed her bags and invited a long-time friend to join her on this adventure.
Upon arriving in Chicago on Nov. 28, a cocktail and dinner reception gave Sudler-Patton and the other sweepstakes winners a chance to meet and mingle, reflect on their credit union relationships, and review their strategy for the next day.
Given just 60 seconds, the sweepstakes winners knew they had to be fast and identify the aisles they wanted to visit. “Sixty-seconds went by really quickly,” said Sudler-Patton. Phil Drewes, TruMark Financial vice president, product manager, accompanied Sudler-Patton on the trip and was there to cheer her and her teammate on as they ran up and down the aisles tossing merchandise into their shopping cart.
“The Magic Minute gave us a great opportunity to reward this long-time member for her loyalty and provide a memorable experience. It was heartwarming to hear the stories from the other winners and learn how much they value their credit union membership,” said Drewes.
