Local agencies receive supply of snacks for children’s programs

Hoping to put a smile on children’s faces, TruMark Financial® Credit Union donated tote bags filled with snacks to five local non-profit organizations that offer educational programs and social services to families experiencing difficult times as they transition back into the economic mainstream.

TruMark Financial employees visited the organizations armed with goodie bags filled with fruit snacks, applesauce, cookies, juice, and granola bars. “We are so grateful for your generosity,” said Marcy Barnes, director of the food pantry at Bethanna.

The following organizations’ programs received tote bags filled with snacks:

  • Bethanna, Bucks County
  • Chester Eastside, Inc., Delaware County
  • Families Forward Philadelphia
  • Girls First, Montgomery County
  • Phoenixville Area Community Services, Chester County

A driving force behind the initiative is fulfilling one of the seven cooperative principles, Concern for Community. In addition, TruMark Financial gives back to the community through its financial literacy program in which employees conduct workshops on topics such as saving, budgeting, credit, and investing at local schools and community organizations and its TruCommunity program where employees receive eight hours of paid time off to allow them to volunteer at a non-profit of their choice.
